This delicious Nutella Sandwich with fresh fruit on healthy homemade Whole Wheat Bread makes a great breakfast or kid snack.

Although this version is made with fresh fig and apples, it can also be made with other fruit like mangoes, peaches, apricots or pears.

It’s fig season in New York and I’m thrilled. I don’t like dried figs but I LOVE fresh figs.  Soft and sweet, I love putting them in salads, sandwiches and just eating them on their own.  They marry well with cheese and vegetables, therefore are very versatile.  Unfortunately, they are only readily available for about 2 months of the summer.

Here’s an idea for a delicious breakfast sandwich or snack, using fresh figs, which are now everywhere!!!

This Nutella Sandwich is made on homemade Whole Wheat Potato Bread. The small sized bread is because I used gluten free flours like almond and chickpea flour.  It’s the perfect size to help you maintain portion control for your snacks and just the right size for this kid sized breakfast.

This is a perfect breakfast/snack for kids and adults alike. Kids can enjoy it with a glass of milk and adults with a mug of coffee/tea.
