This super moist Banana Chocolate Chip Bread is so moist it’s almost the consistency of a British styled steamed pudding. This is a definite kid pleaser and will be gone in the blink of an eye!

A few weeks ago I spent a weekend at my friend’s home.  I got the usual request from her son..
“Auntie Mireille, what are you going to make for us this time?”
Me, feigning ignorance “What do you mean?”
“Well, Mommy says you’re a chef.  So you have to make something while you’re visiting.”
“I know Mommy tells you that, but does that mean I have to make something every time I visit?”
“Of Course!”
“Well, if I must.  I did happen to notice some overripe bananas on the counter.  Would you like some banana bread?”
Now, the conversation became interesting to his 3 1/2 year old sister “Only if it has chocolate chips.  I want chocolate chips in it!”

I personally think my friend bribe’s her kids to flatter me, so that I can do the work of baking for her.  She is not one who likes to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

After a visit to Trader Joe’s for the chocolate chips , this recipe was born.

My friend’s husband is Russian so there is always a huge tub of sour cream in her refrigerator as they eat sour cream with EVERYTHING!!!  I replaced the usual buttermilk I use in Banana Bread with sour cream and the result was this super moist Banana Bread.

Sour cream in this recipe was amazing, combined with the chocolate chips that melt into the bread.  The bread is so rich and moist.  I guarantee this is the moistest banana bread you will ever have!!!

You can also bake them in muffin cups for this guaranteed kid pleaser!!!
