All your data (comments and email entered) is saved and protected securely on our hosting site – Grits Design. Also, we use Jetpack’s backup service – Vaultpress where the data is stored for backup. Also, visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service – Askimet.
How we protect your data
The Global Kitchen Travels website uses an encryption program and we use the SSL – Secure Sockets Layer to transfer the information.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. The emails are retained until the user opts out or unsubscribes. The Analytics records are retained for 26 months.
What data breach procedures we have in place
The Global Kitchen Travels website uses Askimet to prevent spam comments and we receive notifications regarding spam comments. Also, we use SG Site Scanner – a malware detection and early warning system. If any issue is detected the scanner will send an immediate notification mail. This allows for an immediate remedial action to protect our customers, business reputation and revenue.
