Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi is the thick yogurt based Indian smoothie that you get at every Indian restaurant.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 large mango Mexican mango
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • a pinch of saffron
  • 7 ice cubes

Instructions

  • Peel mango and remove all the flesh from the skin and pit.
  • Combine mango, yogurt, milk, water, sugar, cardamom and saffron in the blender and puree. Add ice and process until smooth.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Mango lassi can also be made from canned mango pulp or frozen chopped mango.
