Ingredients
Syrup Ingredients:

poppy seeds

dried rose

fennel seed

cardamom seeds

teaspoon
white pepper

Thandai Ingredients
Serves 2:

milk
1/4
cup
thandai syrup
a pinch of white pepper
for garnish
Instructions
Soak melon seeds, poppy seeds, rose, almonds and fennel for about 4 hours.
Strain and grind to a paste with the seeds of the cardamom and white pepper in a blender or food processor.
Boil the sugar and the water together to make a syrup, about 10 minutes.
Add paste and continue to cook, stirring often, for about 5 minutes on medium low heat. Strain.
To make thandai, combine milk and syrup and stir well.
Serve in a glass, garnished with a little white pepper sprinkled on top.

Syrup makes about 4 1/2 cups
