German Apple Pancake

Apple Oven Pancake is quick and easy and yet so delicious and festive. Perfect for Christmas morning or anytime you want a special treat for breakfast or brunch.

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Spray a pie plate with non stick spray or grease with a little butter.
  • Arrange the thin slices of apple on top. Sprinkle with the sugar and the cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk eggs.
  • Add flour, milk and salt. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour egg mixture over apples.
  • Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.
  • Flip over onto a plate.
  • Garnish with powdered sugar and a quick sprinkle of lemon juice.
  • Serve with slices of lemon and syrup, if desired.

Notes

If you would like to make individual pancakes, you can follow the same procedure but bake them in muffin tins instead.
You can also make these with different fruit like peaches, plums or apricots.
