Thank you so much. So glad you enjoyed it. I think I need to update it with some better photos for more people to appreciate it 🙂

Utterly CRIMINAL that no one has rated and reviewed this recipe yet. I’m from CenLA and used to make King Cakes to sell during Festival season with my mom. Our most popular sellers were cream cheese praline and strawberry cream cheese, but I’ve been interested in exploring other flavors and experimenting with new combinations of my own.

This led me to search online for a Zulu-style recipe, and I was not at all disappointed when I made this cake a couple years ago. My husband doesn’t like coconut very much, but when I asked him what style king cake he wanted for Mardi Gras this year, he wasted no time letting me know it was Zulu!

Thanks for creating such an indulgent recipe–it is always such a treat and I am looking forward to making your cake again to share with my family. I recommend this recipe for anyone who is sick of plain ol’ cinnamon swirl or tired of gloopy globs of canned strawberry pie filling.

Thank you so much for the update. I am going to change that. I haven’t been to Baton Rouge yet and am excited to get to try it first hand! I just did a lot of research, but I guess I got that wrong 🙂
