Hyderabadi Apricot Dessert – Khubani Ka Mitha

Hyderabadi Apricot Dessert - Khubani Ka Mitha + VIDEO is a simple Indian dessert, which is basically an instant apricot jam topped with whipped cream. So simple and yet, so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 6 apricots
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 5 tablespoons heavy cream
  • apricot kernels or sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

  • Pit the apricots. If using the apricot kernels for garnish, smash the pits to get to the kernels.
  • Combine apricot halves, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then cook on medium heat for 15 minutes until thickened to a jam consistency, stirring often.
  • Meanwhile, whip the cream until you have soft peaks.
  • To serve, ladle a little of the apricot into a serving dish. Top with whipped cream and then garnish with the apricot kernels or almonds.
