Haven't even heard of so many apple varieties!. Around 4-5 are commonly available in India – the local Kashmir variety, Fuji and Gala. I've seen Granny Smiths on some blogs here too. Nice pictoral post

Lovely post as always Mir and just in time for the apple picking season! Apple picking in one pof our local farms here in hudson valley has become a family ritual for us. We have been doing this for the past 10 yrs now and I can't wait to do so again this year…My new favorite is the Mutsu! Just seen them since last year!

Thanks to your post I know what I am being offered when I am given apples. Generally I listen to the vendor and buy them there are times I want something and cannot explain to him. There are few that we do not get her but then thats fine. Thanks.
