actually after I wrote up this post, I got the Ninja – just a few days ago. I got the 1000 watt one and it has been a dream. For only $99 at Amazon, so worth it!!!!

I would definitely recommend it. If you don't want to spend 100s of $$ on Vitamix or Blentec, ninja is definitely a great option.
